‘Moby Dick‘
Embrace the light and the shadow with Sonny Bailey-Aird in Moby-Dick, a showcase shaped by the celestial and the sea. Inspired by Melville’s depiction of brilliance emerging from darkness, this showcase is full of bold works that push traditional boundaries — forging raw materials into lasting beauty, from star-like diamonds to molten metal, elemental in their brilliance.
A short excerpt from the book that inspired this showcase:
“Though in the day, suspended against a blue-veined neck, the purewatered diamond drop will healthful glow; yet, when the cunning jeweller lays it against a gloomy ground, and lights it up… Then come out those fiery effulgences, superb; the evil-blazing diamond, once the divinest symbol of the crystal skies, looks like some crown- jewel stolen from the King of Hell.”
