Lucy Martin
Lucy Martin has been making jewellery by hand in London for twenty-four years. Working from her studio at Cockpit Arts, Deptford, she fabricates every piece herself using traditional goldsmithing techniques, constructing each element individually and handcrafting bespoke stone settings for a crisp, uninterrupted finish. Colour is the starting point: Lucy selects gemstones for their depth, opacity, glow and cut, often combining them in unusual ways. Oxidised silver and 18ct yellow gold frame the stones, intensifying shadow and introducing warmth. The result is architectural, substantial jewellery with a quiet but unmistakable presence, designed to be worn every day rather than saved for occasions. Bespoke commissions are central to her practice.
