Sophia Kissin is a Minneapolis-based jewellery artist and professional metalsmith whose one-of-a-kind pieces combine careful craftsmanship with contemporary artistic vision. Specialising in wearable avant-garde jewellery, heirloom redesign and bespoke commissions, she creates organic, ethereal pieces designed to be worn and treasured. Using fabrication, sand casting and stone setting, Sophia explores the heirloom as a vessel for memory, identity and cultural continuity. Her interest in inherited materials and traditions led her to experiment with Capiz shell, a traditional Filipino decorative arts material. Through delicate pen-and-ink drawings and meticulous riveting on paper-thin, translucent shells, she translates nostalgia into wearable modern heirlooms that serve as both personal adornment and an archive of cultural identity.
