Shane / Yan Shi
Shane is a London-based contemporary jewellery artist pursuing an MA in Jewellery & Metal at the Royal College of Art (RCA). Also a jewellery appraiser, evaluator, and jade carving artist, his work, focusing on Eastern cultural contexts and identity, has been exhibited internationally (Beijing, Los Angeles, London) and featured in publications like Youth Vision, China Daily, Sina News, and The Art Insider. In 2025, he will be involved as both a collaborating artist and curator in No Longer, Not Yet, at the Barbican Centre Conservatory and the ICA, London. His practice, informed by ethnographic research into ritual, bodily experience, and emotional expression, positions itself between high jewellery and experimental materials. The resulting pieces are avant-garde yet tradition-rooted, poetic, and narrative-driven, exploring perception, tactility, and symbolism to articulate a spiritually resonant approach to contemporary jewellery.
