Penny Akester Jewellery
Penny Akester is a London-based jeweller with over 30 years of making experience and more than 16 years of teaching behind her, creating carefully handmade statement jewellery. Drawn to the tactile and sculptural nature of jewellery, her handmade talismans are designed to be held, handled and played with.
Working primarily in silver, Penny enjoys combining it with materials such as stone, clay and textiles. Her contemporary, minimal pieces blend contrasting surfaces and textures, creating jewellery that is as pleasing to touch as it is to wear. Inspired by the therapeutic benefits of touch and hands-on creativity, her work explores jewellery as a sensory tool for mindfulness, calm and self-expression. Echoing natural forms—ripples in water, pebbles, twigs, bones and other small natural treasures—her pieces offer a thoughtful, modern interpretation of amulets and worry beads.
