The talented Sonny Bailey-Aird returns for our 2025 MasterMaker Series!


Join us on Friday 25 April for an exclusive and intimate event where you’ll gain insights into Sonny’s jewellery-making practice and journey as a self taught jeweller, his discoveries and, achievements, including how he built a loyal following of 38K followers from humble beginnings.


Known for making his jewellery from scratch and doing every aspect of the process himself, he brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to this special experience. He will guide you through creating a silver textured ring, complete with a beautifully star-set gem in his signature style. This is an incredible opportunity to learn directly from a master.

The experience will be rounded off with a relaxed chat with Sonny while sipping a glass of Prosecco and enjoying delicious sushi from our local neighbours at Mugen.

What will I make?


A sterling silver ring featuring a textured finish and a star-set cubic zirconia stone. During this session you will learn how to:




  • Form and solder a silver ring

  • Shape and texture it with a hammer

  • Mark out and burr a hole to seat the stone

  • Cut a star and raise grains to set the stone


What will happen on the day?


During the talk and Q&A session, Sonny will share insights into his journey, discoveries, and achievements, including how he built a dedicated following of 38K followers from humble beginnings.

Following his demonstration, you will be guided step by step through the process of creating a beautifully textured silver ring in Sonny’s signature style. Once the ring is made to perfection, you will then be shown how to expertly set a coloured cubic zirconia stone in a star setting.

The experience will be rounded off with a relaxed chat with Sonny while enjoying wine  and delicious sushi from our local neighbours Mugen.


What skills do I need?


Difficulty Level: EASYMEDIUM


Some basic understanding of jewellery making.


What should I bring?


- Pen & paper to take notes


- Reading glasses (if you need them!) 


What should I wear? 


Clothes: Casual and not too precious as they may get a bit dusty or damaged.  Avoid long, loose fitting sleeves and anything that might catch or get caught whilst you are working.


Shoes: Casual flat shoes and no open toed sandals in case you drop a hammer or something hot on them!


Hair: Tie long hair back.


Who is my instructor?


Sonny is a self-taught goldsmith who creates one-of-a-kind, fully handmade pieces inspired by historical eras like the Middle Ages, Roman, Byzantine, and Victorian times. Rejecting technological shortcuts, he handcrafts every detail, from alloying gold to final fabrication, valuing the time of traditional methods. His work embodies enduring craftsmanship designed to last for generations. 


Sonny appeared in Season one of the BBC show All That Glitters and has since grown into a much loved and admired personality across instagram and, has recently appeared as a mentor on the BBC show Make It To Market.
