What is our MasterMaker Series?

These monthly events embody what FORGE stands for: exceptional design, the preservation of skills, and the sharing of knowledge. They are limited to 10 people for a unique & intimate, exclusive experience with a highly skilled & accomplished designer.

During 5 captivating hours, you’ll engage in a talk, witness a live demonstration, and partake in a hands-on workshop, all guided by the MasterMakers themselves. The event concludes with a relaxed chat and mingle over wine and delicious sushi from our neighbours Mugen.

What will happen on the day?

The day will begin with an insightful talk from Paul Wells and Anastasia Young, where participants will gain a deeper understanding of their unique practices and techniques. Following the talk, you will have the chance to explore a range of inspiring samples and maquettes. This session will provide an excellent opportunity to ask questions and explore the intricacies of their work.

This will be followed by an in depth workshop exploring the exciting technique of curved score and fold. Starting with paper maquette’s, participants will then move on to creating several copper samples. The focus will be on exploring the process and uncovering potential design possibilities that this technique offers. You will have the chance to troubleshoot any ideas and receive valuable advice on incorporating these techniques into your own work.

The day concludes with a relaxed chat and mingle over wine and delicious sushi from our neighbours Mugen.
