Lulu Tian
Lulu Tian is a contemporary jewellery designer and Central Saint Martins graduate whose practice explores material, body and transformation. Combining traditional craftsmanship with biomaterials and digital fabrication, she creates work that sits between wearable object, sculpture and conceptual design.
Drawing on natural structures and cycles of growth, decay and renewal, Lulu investigates how materials can be recontextualised through jewellery. Her research into biodegradable and waste-derived materials challenges conventional ideas of preciousness, value and permanence, while exploring the relationship between the body and the natural environment. Through craft, material experimentation and ecological thinking, she proposes new possibilities for what jewellery can be, what it can be made from and how it might exist within wider cycles of transformation and return.
