Kayo Saito

Kayo Saito is a contemporary jeweller whose work is deeply inspired by nature and the environment. Informed by plants and trees, their seasonal changes, rustling sounds and swaying movements, Saito translates the abundant colours and textures of natural forms into her own creative language. Using goldsmithing techniques, she crafts subtle organic forms in silver and 18ct gold, creating unique sculptural jewellery that blends Japanese and British aesthetics and techniques.

Trained in both Japan and the UK, Saito completed an MA at the Royal College of Art. Having established her practice in London, she is now based on the Kent coast, where the surrounding landscape and proximity to nature continue to inspire her creativity.

Saito has received numerous awards, including from the British Jewellers’ Association, Crafts Council and the Goldsmiths’ Company, as well as the QEST Award for Excellence in 2024. Her work is held in both private and public collections, including the Goldsmiths’ Company, the Ring Collection of the Swiss National Museum, and the V&A Museum.
