Emma-Jane Rule
Emma-Jane Rule is an award-winning contemporary metalsmith and silversmith with a workshop in Leicester. Her handcrafted metalwork combines traditional silversmithing skills with foldforming, a technique involving folding and hammering sheets of metal to create unique three-dimensional forms. Inspired by the rhythms and patterns found in nature, she uses patinas and surface finishes to enhance textures and the marks of making. Her work includes decorative vessels, wall art, lighting and jewellery in silver and base metals. Emma-Jane is an Associate Member of Contemporary British Silversmiths and exhibits nationally at contemporary art, craft and design events. She also teaches foldforming at FORGE, sharing her love of hammer-working metal.
