Charlotte E Padgham Contemporary Art & Jewellery

Charlotte E Padgham is an experimental, sustainability-focused artist & jewellery designer exploring transition, manipulation, ephemerality & imperfection through found objects, waste and organic matter fused with precious elements. Fascinated by texture, degradation and residues, she often uses her body as inspiration, tool and material to examine transference and preservation of self. Guided by circular economy principles, Charlotte reuses, reworks and recycles materials across her practice, sourcing by hand & giving new life to what cannot be recycled.

Since 2020 Charlotte has developed unique systems to reclaim waste silver from photographic fixer to plate & form jewellery, and to repurpose resin-coated photographic paper into wearable photographs, ‘gemstones’, sculptural objects & intaglio prints. These innovations form her ongoing body of work, DARK MATTER, created entirely from darkroom waste and documented by The London Alternative Photography Collective and The Sustainable Darkroom.
