Anne V Massey Jewellery
Anne V Massey’s practice is rooted in direct engagement with metal, with a particular focus on anticlastic raising, a hammering technique that produces light, strong, sculptural forms. These highly organic, curling and spiralling shapes reflect her inspiration from plant life, marine invertebrates and the sequential nature of ocean waves.
Working in recycled silver and gold, Anne creates jewellery ranging from single-sheet constructions to repeating, sequential forms, sometimes incorporating semi-precious gemstones or accents of yellow gold plating. She studied Wood, Metal, Ceramics and Plastics at Brighton Polytechnic, graduating in 1989, and has been making jewellery since 2002. Anne is a member of the Sussex Guild, the Crafts Council Directory and Design-Nation.
