Wax-Carving Taster class with Russell Lownsbrough.
Discover the ancient art of waxcarving. It's like sculpture for jewellery, a method of creating forms difficult to produce in any other way. Learn about the different waxes used in the jewellery industry, the tools used to work it and the 6500 year old technique of lost wax casting.
Select from a choice of projects designed to enable the novice to gain experience and competence. You will create your own unique variation of the projects. During the class you will learn how to transfer the design to wax and carve it from jeweller's wax under expert guidance from one of the best wax-carvers in the industry.
