MAKE-DAY: Macrame Taster MON 03 JUNE 2024

Create your own unique Macrame Bracelet, under the guidance of an expert jeweller. In this work shop you will learn macrame knotting techniques and how to add a sliding clasp, from an experienced jeweller and be able to take home a piece of jewellery totally unique to you.

What will I make?


You will make a hand knotted bracelet using the techniques explained during the session to create something unique to you!


What will happen on the day?


Upon your arrival you will have the chance to get to know your fellow makers and to admire a range of example macrame jewellery pieces to spark inspiration for your own work. There will then be a demonstration of a range of knotting techniques and how to attach the sliding clasp. The instructor will then guide you as you create your own unique macrame bracelet.


You will be supplied with everything you need including materials and equipment.


What skills do I need?


Difficulty Level: EASY


No previous experience is needed, just a little patience and willingness to give it a go!


What should I bring?


- If you need glasses please don’t forget to bring them with you!


- a notebook and pen.


What should I wear? 


Clothes: Casual and not too precious as they may get a bit dusty or damaged.  Avoid long, loose fitting sleeves and anything that might catch or get caught whilst you are working.


Shoes: Casual flat shoes and no open toed sandals in case you drop a hammer or something hot on them!


Hair: Tie long hair back.
