LEARN-TO: Pavé Set

In this intensive class, you will learn the trade secrets of master setter Brian Fagen, who has 50 years of experience in the jewellery trade.


You will learn the technique of Pavé Setting, including hints and tips to help you work efficiently and accurately, giving you confidence in your setting practice.

What will I Learn?


In this class you will practice Pavé Setting on copper squares.


What will happen on the days?


This class will begin with a demonstration from the tutor, who will guide you through the process of Pavé Setting, offering secrets of the trade to help you gain confidence in your setting practice.


You will be practicing using cubic zirconias on copper squares, allowing you to hone your setting skills without the expense. 


Following this course there is the opportunity to undertake further setting classes, covering techniques such as bezel/rub over setting, 4 claw setting, flush/gypsy setting,  grain/star setting and setting fancy shape stones.


What skills do I need?


Intermediate


For those who already have some prior knowledge on the subject or have relevant skills.


What should I bring?




  • Reading glasses (if you need them!) 


  • Notebook & Pen/Pencil


What should I wear? 


Clothes: Casual and not too precious as they may get a bit dusty or damaged.  Avoid long, loose fitting sleeves and anything that might catch or get caught whilst you are working.


Shoes: Casual flat shoes and no open toed sandals.


Hair: Tie long hair back.
