You will be introduced to the essential tools and techniques required to render gems, to reflect and bring to life their beauty, form and sparkle on paper.

What will I draw?

You will draw gem stones using a variety of techniques to add colour and definition. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student, there is something for everyone to learn and create

What will happen on the day?

You will be introduced to the workshop and the instructor. This followed by a discussion of your skill level, experience and goal(s) for the workshop. Drawing equipment will be distributed before starting a demonstration of jewellery design sketching and colouring techniques.

Based on the demonstration, you will apply methods for creating sketches and rendering for your gemstones through hands-on practice.

What skills do I need?

Difficulty Level: MIXED

A creative background is helpful as this is an intensive one day course. Knowledge of basic art skills is advisable

- Reading glasses (if you need them!) 

- A selection of gems

- Reference photos are optional.

- All necessary drawing equipment will be provided.
