MAKE-DAY: Date Night

Instead of a date at the pub, why not do something a little more creative, learn something new and make a ring each at FORGE?! It's also a great social event as you will be mingling with 4 other couples with chill out music and celebrating your creative achievements with a glass of prosecco!

Price is per couple.

What will I make?

You will make a silver ring each, which will be either 2mm, 4mm or 6mm wide and finished with a texture of your choice.

What will happen on the day?

When you arrive your instructor will greet you and supply you with everything you need to create your rings.

You will measure your fingers to work out the metal length needed to make your ring and then you will get forming, bending, soldering, hammering and polishing, until you have two finished rings as a lasting keepsake of your date.

We will end with a little glass of Prosecco or, non-alcoholic beverage if preferred, to toast your creative achievements!

What skills do I need?

Difficulty Level: MEDIUM

No previous experience needed, just a steady hand, a little patience and willingness to give it a go! Don't worry if you feel you're not artistic or creative, you will be taken through the whole process step by step.

What should I bring?

Reading glasses (if you need them!)

What should I wear?

Clothes: Casual and not too precious as they may get a bit dusty or damaged. Avoid long, loose fitting sleeves and anything that might catch or get caught whilst you are working.

Shoes: Casual flat shoes and no open toed sandals in case you drop a hammer or something hot onto them.

Hair: Tie long hair back.

Who is my instructor?

Justin Wilson is a highly skilled Hatton Garden artisan who began in 1974 as apprentice to high-end jeweller Graff. With so many years experience under his belt you will be in extremely capable hands.

How do I get there?
